"I like DI because there are very few constrictions and rules, and it feels like you can do anything. I have learned how to lead and guide a group of people to an effective solution. I want to go to global finals because it is really fun to see what people built and what you could do next year. I also like DI because it attracts a lot of skill types, and they do not have to all be building, or painting, writing scripts." -Teapot Creator/Driver, EIEIOctopi
"As one of the main builders of the crab backdrop and the main builder of the guitar, I learned a lot about woodworking that I didn't know before, like it's important to take your time when you're cutting wood. I learned router-ing, using a chop saw, using a jig saw, and overall large-scale planning when I was building things this year. I also feel like the Instant Challenges were on par with helping me work with a team and use all my resources strategically."

DI is Brain Evolution!

"In D.I. we learn new ways to use our brains.  I used to think that I did not have a creative brain, but joining D.I. has really unlocked my full creativity.  I’ve learned many things in D.I.  Mostly construction and engineering-related things like electrical circuitry, soldering, pipe fitting, but I've actually learned a lot of things about acting too.
Doing Instant Challenges has helped me think of ideas on the spot, and work with my teammates. Overall, D.I. has evolved my brain!"

Why do I do DI?

I like DI because it’s fun, interesting and challenging.  It helps me become a better public speaker by performing in front of others.  I’ve also learned a lot of new skills.  Some of the skills I’ve learned are using power tools, cutting letters with a Cricut and building different kinds of sets out of PVC pipe and wood.  This year, I built our set out of wood, and it is way better than the PVC we used last year!  I enjoy spending time with my friends brainstorming and creating awesome things for the challenges.
